Programme statement following the EU Referendum

Thursday 07 July 2016

Norfolk County Council, the Managing Authority for the France (Channel) England Programme, remains committed to implementing the delivery of the Programme.

Nothing material has changed at this stage; the UK continues to remain a full member of the European Union, and there are no changes to the UK's status in the Interreg VA France (Channel) England Programme or any other EU funding programmes.

The process of leaving the EU will not happen swiftly. The UK’s decision to exit will have to be translated into a range of detailed negotiations and decisions. Under Lisbon Treaty rules, it will take at least until late 2018 (perhaps longer) for all the details of that exit to come into place. So for the time being there is no change to the UK eligibility for, access to, and participation in EU-funded programmes. We therefore strongly encourage you to make the most of the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to our citizens, innovation, the environment, the low carbon economy and the social innovation challenges that exist today. We commit to supporting you to apply.

Applicants are encouraged to continue working on their projects and applying to the Programme, and should contact their local facilitator as soon as possible to receive support in the development of their project.

The dates of the next calls for projects are:

  • 4th call: 13th of September to 13th of October 2016
  • 5th call: 2nd March to 6th of April 2017
